UChicago Presents

The University of Chicago Presents mission is about more than just music: The goal is to inspire, delight, and engage campus and community by presenting the world’s best artists on an intimate scale. Throughout its 81-year legacy on UChicago’s campus, UChicago Presents has helped attendees experience the transformative power of live performance, creating moments that linger in the heart, entertain the senses, and express the unspoken. This impact is magnified by the Sponsor-a-Student program, which offers 25 free student tickets to UChicago Presents concerts. These student tickets, underwritten by generous donors, make world-class music accessible to students of all backgrounds.

The impact of live music can be felt across the student body, in the community, and throughout the city. That is due, in no small part, to University of Chicago Presents.

Why are donations necessary?

UChicago Presents brings international artists to the best venues across campus, performing in a wide variety of genres. From classical and contemporary music to early music, world music, and jazz, UChicago Presents seasons are as varied and diverse as their audiences. UChicago Presents is committed to ensuring that students of all backgrounds can experience world-class music. Given that ticket sales account for only 15 percent of the annual budget, UChicago Presents relies heavily on the support of its patrons and advocates throughout the community to make each season possible and to bring students into the performance halls. Including administration fees, one Sponsor-a-Student ticket costs $50.

Your Giving Day support for UChicago Presents will ensure that it continues to be a cultural jewel on UChicago’s campus and in the city and enable the organization to continue providing the concerts and events that enrich the University’s artistic offerings, helping secure the future of the series for the next generation.

“I really enjoyed being able to take a break from my problem sets for the week to listen to some great music.”
