Description
The myCHOICE Program provides guidance to our PhDs about career options through targeted career-themed seminars, mini courses, and experiential exposure, such as externships. Focusing on the wide variety of fields that interest today’s PhDs in the Biological Sciences Division (and other science, technology, engineering, and math disciplines), myCHOICE offers robust information about careers in business, academia, policy, industry, research, the public sector, and more.
Donations are applied to...
Your support this Giving Day will ensure that the comprehensive menu of myCHOICE programmatic offerings is available to all Biological Sciences Division trainees, giving them access to hands-on, in-depth professional development experiences, as well as exposure to potential employers who seek UChicago PhDs for their strong research backgrounds, critical thinking skills, and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
This Giving Day your gift will expose trainees to mentors (including faculty and successful UChicago PhD alumni), career options, and professional development experiences that expand their post-educational opportunities, setting them up for future success.
Why are donations necessary?
Today most PhD-trained individuals are choosing nonacademic careers. The myCHOICE Program exposes trainees to a variety of fields and career paths both inside and outside academia where they can apply their rigorous education to innovative careers related to the sciences, technology, translational discoveries, and so much more.
