Description

At the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center, more than 200 cancer specialists care for patients of all ages. Our cancer specialists are some of the world’s leading experts in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment, and are behind some of the most important advances in cancer therapy and research.

The UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center is internationally recognized and is one of only two National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the state of Illinois.

To continue providing the best in patient care, UChicago Medicine is building Chicago’s first freestanding cancer care and research pavilion. The new facility combines inpatient and outpatient care along with resources to foster groundbreaking collaboration between physicians, scientists, and other expert researchers from the University of Chicago. It is designed to advance cancer treatments, speed scientific discoveries, and reduce health disparities on the South Side, where cancer is the second leading cause of death.

Your support on Giving Day will fuel UChicago’s researchers and physicians to pioneer cancer breakthroughs and transform patient outcomes.

Donations are applied to...

Your gift empowers our teams of experts to prevent cancer before it starts through screening and genomic testing, develop new therapies that harness the body’s immune system to fight cancer, stop cancer’s deadly spread by uncovering the secrets of metastasis, and help cancer survivors lead heathy, full lives.

Why are donations necessary?

"Philanthropy plays an integral role in advancing cancer research and care—from supporting the next generation of researchers to bolstering clinical trials to bringing new drugs to market.”—Kunle Odunsi, Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center
